Restaurants with ACTUAL Vegetarian Fare?

Editor’s Note: We love hearing from you guys! You give us ideas of where to eat, what to order, and what you think about places we recommend. When you have questions for us, we do our best to answer them. So send them to us as often as you think of them! We were recently [...]

You’re Going to Need Two Napkins (At Least)

“Messy” is in it’s name.   And Chef Steve D’Angelo warned us that it would drip… a lot. I think he even said something like “don’t wear your best clothes when you order this sandwich.” But if you want the BEST shaved roast beef po-boy in town… you know, the good- old-fashioned, Cajun style, fully dressed, [...]

It's a Super Burger Miracle!

Whistle Stop Express, home of GG’s Super Burgers, is located in Flora, MS in the Kearney Park area of town. Whistle Stop Express is a new burger joint that, should you be in that area, is definitely worth a visit. A little background story… Early this past summer, my mister and I were driving to [...]

I've Never Done This Before…

It’s rare that I rush home and absolutely HAVE TO write about something that happened at a place we’ve been. When it does happen, usually its because the service was really, really bad or in a few rare cases something was absolutely off the charts so much so that I couldn’t stop talking about it, [...]

Eating Our Way Through Starkville, Part IV

The Starkville Food Tour may be nearing its end, but we went out with a bang at The Veranda Restaurant near the Mississippi State University campus and a final hurray at City Bagel Cafe on University. In case you missed it, check out Part One, Part Two and Part Three.

Eating Our Way Through Starkville, Part III

On Day Two of our Starkville Food Tour, my husband and I caught up with Danya & Don O’Bannon, proprietors of Oby’s, a true Starkville tradition. We also hit a local coffeehouse, Strange Brew Coffeehouse, for an afternoon jolt…

Eating Our Way Through Starkville, Part II

Let’s continue with our Starkville Food Tour with another Ty Thames restaurant, shall we? Restaurant Tyler After eating the Carne Pizza from Bin 612, which was one of the best I’ve had in recent history (See Part I), it was time to head back to Restaurant Tyler to try the Smoked Catfish Hushpuppies and the [...]

Eating Our Way Through Starkville, Part I

Welcome to Eat Jackson’s first ever Starkville Food Tour, a four-part series covering the best of one of Mississippi’s college towns…definitely worth the drive. The details of how the Starkville Food Tour originated are a little fuzzy to me, but I do remember that it all started on Twitter (as many of our reviews do.). [...]

Dinner at ROCA

Our dinner for two at ROCA in Vicksburg was awesome. The cheese fritters stole the show for us, but here are a few shots of all the other great food Chef Jay Parmegiani served us! We did not eat a single thing that we didn’t like… Thanks again, Jay, for having us out!!
