A look back at the evening…

The Chefs and Restaurant Staff for Eat Jackson's Bread Pudding Throwdown - just before the guests arrived!
A crowd of about 350 people filled the Old Capitol Inn in downtown Jackson to experience the first throwdown Jackson as ever seen. With 15 restaurants, 16 bread puddings, some wonderful presenting sponsors (AFESCO, First Class Linens, Chane, Kat’s, and Old Capitol Inn), a coffee tasting by BeanFruit Coffee, a bourbon tasting by Kat’s Wine, music by Raphael Semmes and his hand-picked “Bread Pudding Throwdown Band,” door prizes from all of the participating restaurants, and amazing “Official Judge” aprons for all, how could the night not have been anything but spectacular?
Guests at the event were each handed one ballot as they walked through the doors. The ballot had three categories on which the guests could vote: Overall Best Bread Pudding, Most Creative Bread Pudding, and Most Like Grandma’s Bread Pudding. A Best Table Decoration prize was also awarded before guests arrived by a panel of judges made up of our event sponsors.
The participating restaurants were as follows: Babalu Tacos & Tapas, BRAVO! Italian Restaurant & Bar, Julep Restaurant and Bar, Miller’s Grill, Mint the Restaurant, Nick’s Restaurant, Old Capitol Inn (they’ll have two), Ole Tavern on George Street, The Parker House Restaurant, Parlor Market, Primos Cafe, Sophia’s at Fairview Inn, Table 100, Two Sisters Kitchen, and Underground 119.
